How to Become a AAA Mountaineering Outdoor Sports Club

The "Administrative Measures for the Mountaineering Outdoor Sports Club of the China Mountaineering Association" (Trial) stipulates:

The outdoor sports professional committee authorized by China Mountaineering Association is responsible for the registration and management of mountaineering outdoor sports clubs. The outdoor sports professional committee is composed of experts and technical backbones such as alpine adventure, rock climbing and ice climbing, outdoor sports for mountaineering, mass mountaineering, and outreach sports; they will apply for assessment according to the club’s scale, technical level, venue equipment, and operation conditions. Outdoor sports clubs are divided into three levels according to the technical level, from low to high A, AA and AAA. Every six months, once every two years, an annual review of the outdoor sports clubs and related practitioners that passed the assessment is conducted.

Specific assessment conditions and steps are as follows

Register Club

Registration in local civil affairs department or industrial and commercial department, fixed office space and technical staff

Application for "National Mountaineering Outdoor Sports Club Registration Form" to China Mountaineering Association

After passing the discussion by the Standing Committee, it was reported to the China Mountaineering Association for approval

After the club registration application was approved, the China Mountaineering Association announced the list on the official website.

A-level club

Registered club

More than one middle-level, 2 or more junior technicians (including climbing instructors trained by the China Mountaineering Association, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and several auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical staff, etc.) Technical strength

Formally registered members of more than 50 people and technical equipment to carry out corresponding activities

Organize at least 500 person-times or more mountaineering outdoor sports activities or competitions each year

There are more standardized names, regulations, organizations and internal management systems

There is no record of major casualties caused by human factors

Provide the above related materials and submit a rating application to China Mountaineering Association.

AA Club

Clubs that have attained Class A qualification for one year

More than 2 middle-level and 4 or more junior technicians (including climbing instructors trained by the China Mountaineering Association, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and several auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical personnel, etc.) Technical strength

Successfully organized or contracted 2 or more regional or one or more provincial mountaineering outdoor activities or competitions

There are fixed venues and facilities (including self-built, built, leased and shared, etc.), officially registered members of more than 60 people, and technical equipment to carry out corresponding activities

There is no record of major injuries caused by human factors

Provide the above related materials and submit a rating application to China Mountaineering Association.

AAA Club

AA-class full-year club

More than 3 middle-level and 5 or more junior technicians (including climbing instructors trained by the China Mountaineering Association, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and several auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical staff, etc.) Technical strength

More than 100 officially registered members and technical equipment to carry out corresponding activities

Have a venue for training, activities, training, competitions, and the ability to undertake general national competitions or events

There is no record of major injuries caused by human factors

Provide the above related materials and submit a rating application to China Mountaineering Association.

Registration with outdoor sports clubs is still very simple, but it requires certain conditions to apply to become an A-class club, AA club, and AAA club. The club-level certificate is shown below

As of November 2016, there were 269 outdoor sports clubs registered with the China Mountaineering Association and 93 A-class outdoor sports clubs that have been certified by the China Mountaineering Association. Among them, there are 17 AAA outdoor sports clubs and AA grade outdoor. There are 14 sports clubs and 62 A-level outdoor sports clubs.
