To meet the needs of the new solid-state lighting market and to communicate the color quality of lighting products with consumers, NIST has developed a Light Quality Quality Chart (CQS) to evaluate the light source with a new 15 color quality.

The color quality (CQS) calculation method is derived from the color rendering index (CRI). The method evaluates the color quality of the light source in the following 15 colors to more accurately analyze the color quality of today's solid-state lighting sources. .
