The self-adhesive bottom mold strip is a kind of auxiliary material used in the die cutting indentation process to replace the traditional bottom mold. Overseas as early as 40 years ago, it has developed and produced bottom mold strips. For example, British CHANNEL Corporation developed self-adhesive bottom mold strips in the 1950s and successively introduced high-elasticity stainless steel sheet bottom sheets, high-strength plastic sheet bottom sheets, and fiber paper base sheet self-adhesive bottom mold sheets, all over the world. It has been widely used. Table 1 shows the comparison of the effects of using a British CHANNEL self-adhesive undermold strip and a conventional process to make a die-cut indentation bottom mold.

In China, with the accelerating pace of opening up to the outside world, some domestic trading companies started to sell, sell and promote self-adhesive bottom molds in the early 1990s. In just a decade, the use of self-adhesive undermolds has reached 95% in some cities where the printing industry is developed.
How to use the bottom mold bar 1. Select the normal bottom mold groove width and groove depth.
Groove width = 2 sheets of paper thickness + steel wire thickness (±0.05mm)
Groove depth = paper thickness (±0.05mm)
Steel wire height = steel blade height - paper thickness 2. Adjust the pressure of the entire bottom plate of the die-cut creaser.
3. Cut the bottom mold strips of corresponding length according to the length of the steel wire on the die mold, and insert the surface openings of the bottom mold strips into the steel wire. The protective film of the bottom mold strip is peeled off; then, the bottom mold strip is firmly stuck on the bottom board of the machine; the bottom mold strip positioning glue strip on the bottom board is taken off, and the bottom wire pressure line bottom mold is formed accordingly. Start working properly.
There are many printing companies that use recycled paper for cost savings. Due to the short fibers and sparse density of the recycled paper, explosive lines, popping colors, etc. are easily generated in the process of die-cutting and indentation. British CHANNEL Corporation has developed a beveled self-adhesive bottom mold strip for the use of inclined surfaces to make recycled paper fibers. Indentation avoids breakage at right angles of 90°, reducing waste and improving efficiency. Table 2 gives an analysis of the indentation failure.

2. If the strip indentation bottom mold: replace the pressure line die;
3. If the entire counter is: Reposition, use a wider groove or replace the bottom mold. Crevices on both sides of creases Counterslot Grooves are too narrow Grooves Wide undercuts Indentation is not noticeable Steel wire is too low or counterbored Groove is too wide Use make-up paper to increase wire height, or use grooves Narrow bottom mold creases unevenly on the reverse side. Steel wire is too low. Use make-up paper to increase the height of steel wire. Indentation on poor quality paperboard is not obvious The bottom mold groove is too shallow. Positioning strip is not easy to install on steel wire Steel wire is too old (rusty or broken); Positioning rubber strip is not properly replaced Replace steel wire, wipe with oil or wax to make wire smoother, Use groove for wider positioning The strips are not easy to stick to the surface of the die cutting machine. The surface of the die cutting machine has dirty oil marks on the bottom surface. The bottom plate is completely cleaned. The indentation marks appear at the end of the stamp (when the bottom die is near the cutting position of the steel knife, Situation) Excessive indentation pressure reduces the height of the elastic rubber on the blade or cuts the end of the die into a ramp shape
It is the use of bottom mold strips as an auxiliary material that has greatly improved the quality of many companies' products. It is believed that this new type of auxiliary material with low cost and significant effect will be more and more widely used in China. (Zhang Entao, Shanghai Leopard Printing Materials Co., Ltd.)
