The first highway prestressed continuous trough bridge in China passed the appraisal

On July 28th, the first highway prestressed continuous channel bridge in China, the Qinglong Bridge across the Jianghan route Yinjia River, passed the acceptance.
According to reports, the road prestressed continuous channel-shaped bridge is lightweight, beautiful, and safe. It reduces the use of bridges and backfills, saves land resources, and is widely used in Western countries. However, due to the thin beam and large span of the main beam, technical problems such as the difficulty in the overall casting of the continuous thin-walled concrete have not been overcome. Therefore, it has only existed in the design concept of the bridge expert in China. Qinglong Bridge is located in Shayang County. The China Railway Eleventh Bureau Construction and Installation Engineering Company, responsible for construction, focused on scientific and technological breakthroughs and succeeded in overcoming many technical problems such as the long-span prestressed concrete continuous trough beam hybrid support technology and reducing the number of approach bridges by more than 90 meters.
The appraisal and assessment team composed of experts from the China Highway Research Institute and the China Bridge Science Research Institute believes that this type of large-span continuous trough bridge was adopted for the first time in the history of highway bridge construction in China, and its reasonable support system, proper filling procedures, Accurate template positioning and modern construction control have reached the domestic advanced level.
