Thailand: LDPE will be manufactured using ExxonMobil's patented process

ExxonMobil awarded its LDPE and EVA autoclave manufacturing process to Thai PTT Chemicals' new installation in Thailand. The device is the same as ExxonMobil's polymer plant in Antwerp, Belgium. It can produce 100,000 tons of LDPE and EVA resin annually.

PTT Chemicals is a subsidiary of Thailand's largest ethylene and propylene producer PTT Group and currently has HDPE production capacity. According to Suphon Tubtimcharoon, senior vice president of PTT chemistry, "ExxonMobil's patented technology provides us with an ideal process for producing LDPE/EVA that can meet the growing demand for local LDPE/EVA markets."

ExxonMobil said that the operational flexibility of this LDPE process will enable PTT Chemicals to produce different grades of products that can be used in film packaging, injection molding, insulating materials, and various pipe materials.
