Recently, China Green Home Environmental Technology Working Committee held the first “Green Home – Green Home 3G Audit Service Seminar†held in Guangzhou to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development trend of green materials and green homes and industry standards.
Industry experts revealed at the meeting that the green home industry has developed rapidly in recent years, but the domestic environmental protection standards for household products still have too loose problems. Only by formulating stricter green home standards and regulatory systems can we effectively prevent formaldehyde, TVOC, lead, etc. Harmful substances such as heavy metals exceed our standards and invade our homes, so that consumers can be more assured of the household products produced by the company.
According to reports, many countries are implementing higher-level standards step by step for the release of harmful substances. The entry of home-made products made in China into these countries will face increasingly stringent requirements. It is understood that China is a large exporter of furniture and wood-based panels. About 2 million cubic meters of wood-based panels are exported to the United States each year, accounting for about 14% of China's total exports of wood-based panels. In China, about 800,000 cubic meters of plywood is exported to Japan each year, accounting for about 8% of China's total plywood exports.
Li Hongfan, director of the China Green Home Environmental Technology Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as “Green Residence Committeeâ€), said that whether household products are green or not, the release of harmful substances from raw materials plays a key role. At present, domestic restrictions on harmful substances in sheet metal and household products are mainly concentrated in formaldehyde, and less attention is paid to the release of other harmful substances such as TVOC (total volatile organic compounds). Only the technical requirements for environmental labeling products of wood-based panels and their products in China are HJ571. The standard imposes restrictions on TVOC, but it is not enforceable.
In the past two years, the domestic green environmental protection market has developed rapidly with the needs of consumers, and has gradually formed a certain scale. According to the calculation of the Green Residence Committee, the domestic green home market will reach 69.44 billion yuan in 2014.
At present, the problem of homogenization of domestic products is outstanding. It is difficult for some large-scale enterprises to make breakthroughs in the current scale. With the rise of green consumption trends, green home has become a new breakthrough for enterprises. It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is currently developing a catalogue of "Green Building Materials Products" to guide and expand the consumption of green building materials. The Ministry of Commerce has also formulated various policies to encourage green consumption patterns.
