Scientists have found that mouse brain can cultivate liver tissue

Scientists cultivate a small liver by experiment. This is undoubtedly good news for patients who urgently need a liver transplant.

This technology may one day be used to repair unhealthy and damaged organs and relieve the worries of waiting for transplants. Some patients do not even wait for donors to die. This artificial tissue may also be used to test new drugs to prevent unfortunate events such as "Xiangren" drug trials. With the same technique, it is also possible to breed new kidneys, lungs and pancreas. The study is still in a very early stage, but British experts describe it as "a big step forward" and at the same time think it makes a "real commitment" to alternative options for organ transplantation.

The researchers cultivated a small piece of tissue with three kinds of cells that generate liver in human embryos on a plate, and then transplanted it into the brain of a mouse. It has enough blood supply here and it takes at least 2 months to grow up. This artificial tissue has many characteristics of the human liver, such as the ability to break down drugs. In the experiment, this artificial tissue also prolonged the life of mice with fatal liver disease. These scientists chose the brain for experiments because they can fix the liver to the brain relatively easily and at the same time make it easy to observe. But for human patients, these liver tablets are actually used to repair the liver. Experiments on humans are expected to be conducted within 10 years at the earliest.
