Exported products already include industrial control systems and precision scientific instruments with high technological content. Low-end digital multimeter exports account for 60% of the world market. Exporting countries are not limited to Asia and Africa, many products have successfully entered the European and American markets.
At present, although the rain test chamber industry in China has seen a relatively large development overall, it is still far from meeting the growing and urgent needs of the national economy, scientific research, national defense construction, and social development. Most of China's equipment products belong to low-end products, and the technical level is equivalent to the international level in the early and mid-1990s. From the perspective of total market sales, China's total imports of instruments and equipment in 2003 were 9.15 billion US dollars, equivalent to 73% of the total output value of the entire domestic industry. Excluding the export part, China's domestic instruments and equipment only account for 51.4% of the domestic market, and the gap is as high as half. It is not difficult to see that the current situation facing China's equipment is severe. The overall development level of China's equipment is 10 to 15 years behind that of developed countries.
