About the fastness of binding after printing

Most sheetfed digital printers use toner instead of traditional ink. When the toner passes through the heating roller, it is melted by heat, and the ink color is fixed on the paper surface. A small amount of solvent is released during the hot-melt process. Although the amount of this type of solvent is small, it is adsorbed on the paper surface, which affects the adhesion of the binding glue and the paper. The fastness of binding is sometimes related to the fastness of lamination. The covers of digitally printed books are often colored. Because of the small amount of printing, it is also printed with a color toner digital printer. The adhesion of the toner to the coated paper is poor, and toner peeling is often seen at the turning point of the spine.

Generally speaking, this kind of short version business is not suitable for surface coating and film coating, because the surface adhesion of the toner is poor, and it is slightly wrinkled, and the plastic film will be separated from the paper. Generally, the lamination is only used for book covers printed with traditional inks. If the customer insists on the requirement, it is more reasonable to use a single-sided lamination on the outside of the cover. This will not cause the book block and cover to fall off.
