The inadequacy of specialty paper

Although the decorative effect of specialty paper is very strong and has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages.

(1) Expensive

Ordinary embossed paper is 1 times more expensive than the same amount of paper, so it is rarely used for the printing of large-volume albums, and is mostly used for covers or important materials.

(2) It is easy to get dirty

Special papers have good absorption performance and strong penetrability. However, due to uneven lines, the ink penetrates into the gaps during printing. In particular, the large-area solid version is difficult to dry and sticky. Therefore, when printing a four-colored character image, the color tone may be boring.

(3) difficult to use four-color printing

In the printing of colored specialty papers, it is important to note that the dark special paper surface cannot print in four colors, but only metal inks or spot inks.

When printing a four-color image on a surface of a light-colored specialty paper, the overall hue will be shifted toward the surface of the paper if printed in a normal tone. Therefore, it is best not to use a colored paper to print four colors in the design.
