Studio Lighting with ImageOn Films ImageOn Films are very sensitive to high intensity UV light and must be protected to ensure that the ImageOn film is not exposed to ultraviolet light when the film is cut and the plate is prepared. In fact, you can use almost any operating environment light without worrying about ImageOn film exposure during the 30 minutes of preparation. The most important thing is to prevent ImageOn from being directly exposed to sunlight. If you have a window in your studio that can inject a lot of sunlight, then it is recommended to cover the window with a red or yellow plastic translucent grid curtain. One of the best ways to block the window is to prepare the ImageOn film for the plate under the incandescent lamp. The prepared plate can then be covered with a red Reese film or an opaque cover and transferred to an etching machine for lamination. When the adhesive etch pad is placed on the plate and ImageOn film, the Rubylith film should be removed before the machine. After lamination, further similar light protection precautions should be made for the printing plate production process. Gravure Printing Plates Since the non-etching nature of gravure printing plates is nearly perfect, any oil-free surface that can accept Image On Film can be used to make printing plates. If the dry sanding process cannot be completed in a well-ventilated environment, it is recommended to use wet sanding, which prevents dust from spreading in the air. Be sure not to transfer fingerprints to the surface of the copper plate. If a plated metal plate or aluminum plate is used, it is not necessary to sand these plates, but it must be thoroughly cleaned with Comet or Ajax cleaners and kitchen cleaners. ImagOn will be glued to the surface of Plexiglas, polycarbonate and polyester plates without the need for polishing, and there will be no greasy finger prints on the surface of the plate. A 50% alcohol solution is enough to clean the surface of these plates.
