Tabbedout's app is compatible with iPhone and Android, and has partnered with restaurants and other companies to allow users to pay their bills with their mobile phones. Unlike other mobile payment platforms, Tabbedout users can store and encrypt credit card information directly on their mobile phones without going through the Tabbedout server to prevent lost or stolen credit cards.
Users can also use the app to search for local restaurants that support Tabbedout mobile payment services. After the user arrives at one of the restaurants, open the bill in the application on the mobile phone and display it to the server. When the bill is opened, the server will get a password, and then the user can order the meal normally. Tabbedout will immediately encrypt the user's name and credit card number and send it to the sales management system of the restaurant or bar. After the user finishes eating, according to the prompt, select the desired credit card and press the payment button, and the payment is completed. Users can also share their payment experience on Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. Tabbedout supports cost-sharing payments and emails the bill to the user via the app.
Currently, restaurants and bars in 90 cities in more than 20 states in the United States support Tabbedout services. The success of Tabbedout depends on whether the company can extend its mobile payment platform to various restaurant sales management systems. Last week, the company announced that MICROS, the main restaurant pos machine supplier, will embed the Tabbedout program into its sales management system, which will undoubtedly increase the number of businesses in Tabbedout.
