However, we rarely think about how many sheets of paper it consists of, and how its page number is laid out. When you think about it, make sure that the pages of the book are related to the printing, which is the premise of the entire process. With it, we only knew how to print, we could print, bind, and make books.

We know that once printed on one side of a full sheet of paper or once on both sides of a folio, it is a printed sheet. A book consists of multiple sheets, and one sheet can print multiple page numbers based on different versions. If a printed sheet is printed with 8 pages, if the number of words in the book is exactly the number of pages, the length of the book is a full 64 pages (multiples of 8). It takes exactly 8 full sheets, which is a perfect condition. There are thousands of books in real life, and the page numbers are not all that good, that is to say, there is a situation that can not be filled up. In the above example, if the content of the book is only 60 pages, how can it be arranged? Do you want to discard the last 4 pages and leave blank? Under normal conditions, we rarely find double-sided blank pages in books! Therefore, we are faced with a problem that needs to be solved: How to arrange and set page numbers for blank pages.

If the book appears double-sided white pages, how to arrange?

The following are examples of offset lithographic printing presses, 32 format books, vertical cross-folding and glue-binding books.

(1) If the page number of the book happens to be a multiple of 32, such as 128 pages, 256 pages ... ... so easy to handle, directly according to the above page layout.

(2) If the book has 33 pages of the word content, remove the 32 pages of the whole sheet, the remaining page 33 of the film processing independently, stick to the big film and then exposure, the actual process generally only fight to 8 open (ie 0.25 sheets) , and did not pack 16 copies like the whole sheet. Then cover the exposure 4 times in time, that is, the entire face is covered. If there is a word content of 34 pages, like 33 pages, but there is a word on the back, which means that the odd and even pages are the same.

(3) If the book has 42 pages of content. Remove the 32 pages of the whole sheet, leaving 10 more codes.
10÷32=0.3125
If you fight like 33 pages, then the remaining 3 white pages (6 pages) are not desirable. Then need to increase the white page into 12 yards 12 ÷ 32 = 0.375
At this time fight 0.25 sheets, ie 8 pages 0.25×32=8
0.375-0.25=0.125
The remaining 0.125 sheets 0.125 x 32 = 4
Print the last 4 pages (including a double-sided white page)

(4) If the book has 50 pages of the word content, the same as the above, except for 32 pages of the entire printed page, there are 18 pages, of which 16 pages with 0.5 printed sheets, the exposure sheet is printed in two exposures, once for the layout content, one PS version can print two copies of the book. Another point of attention is that in actual production, in order to ensure that there is no page break or page break, usually non-integral sheets and leaflets are bound together in the whole sheet, that is to say, not a continuous page number on a whole sheet ( 1 to 32), but a page number that is separated by one area is reserved for single-code inserts.

Of course, some people may say that with these special page numbers, we can avoid using other special folding methods, such as parallel folding and mixed folding. Take one of the parallel folds, bag breaks, as an example. It is in accordance with the requirements of the page number order, with the first folded edge in the middle, and is often used on pages 6 to 10. Mixed folding is a folding method with both parallel folds and vertical folds, both turning and turning. It is often used for 6-page, 9-page, double-folding.
