The project of “Research and Application of Rare Earth Complex Oxide Catalysts” in the “863” new material field under the leadership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Ecological Environment Center is progressing well.
The project developed three series of large surface-ratio rare earth composite oxide materials, explored and developed two coating technologies and processes, and developed two series of catalytic purification materials for the emission of volatile organic pollutants (VOCs) from different industries. , With the characteristics of low ignition temperature, good thermal stability, good anti-aging properties and wide range of practical applications, there are no signs of deactivation of the catalyst at the operating temperature of industrial purification equipment; two series of natural gas catalytic combustion materials have been developed and are undergoing catalytic combustion. Design and test.
In terms of industrial application demonstration, the company produced more than 2,000 liters of rare earth composite catalytic materials, and cooperated with the company to complete a total of five sets of purification equipment for the treatment of waste gas from benzene, purification of xylene gas, and treatment of hydrogen cyanide gas. A pilot-scale composite oxide powder production line was built. In mid-August, the tenth National Conference on Rare Earth Catalysis was organized in Beijing with the theme of rare earth catalysis in energy and environmental applications.
The main innovations of this project are: designing materials based on application and reaction characteristics, and controlling the surface properties and pore structure of rare earth composite catalytic materials to a certain extent, thereby improving the catalytic activity, thermal stability, and resistance to sintering and anti-toxicity of the catalytic materials. Elimination of macromolecular reactants can easily cause steric hindrance and mass transfer effects. Hydrothermal synthesis, stencil synthesis, intercalation assembly, surface modification and other techniques and various surface and pore structure characterization methods were used for research and development.
